Aluminum Beast, Anyone?

Ah, the Northeast corner of 90th south and State street....
This little hot spot has been home to many things over the years. Fireworks in the summer, Christmas trees in the winter, and different projects throughout the different seasons. There have been more than enough lamps, pottery, rugs, clothes and other "fine" home furnishings to make any junk collector happy.

Currently, this is what resides there.
Tell me that's not enough to scare you when you come around the corner.
Especially if you don't see it coming.

Randomness...

Over the last few weeks, there have been different things that I have been meaning to post that I haven't gotten around to. So, enjoy the random photos and events...

A couple weeks ago, My friend Nuria and I threw a baby shower for our good friend Robyn (2nd one on the left below). Six out of the eleven girls that came were pregnant! (Some of which, you can't tell at all.) I want to point out Meggie, third in from the right. 23 or 24 weeks along. With TWINS. Yup. Crazy.

Yes, six out of the eleven girls there had buns in the oven. It's fun to see everyone with little ones, and to see their families grow. We had a great time, and I love all of these girls.

And a few nights ago, I went to a Galvanic Spa demo - this product that is supposed to take away wrinkles... I'm sure it works. But it's mega-super expensive - and who wants to spend $300 dollars on it? Not me! This is me with Nuria, Charlee and Christy. I hadn't seen Charlee for about three and a half years - it was so good to catch up and have fun. I love these girls, too. :)

And just a few days ago, I got a surprise visitor at work - my cousin Drew, from Maryland! I hadn't seen him since my wedding, and it was so fun to visit for a little while (he really only had about 20 minutes). He is moving to Oregon, and was on his way through.
He's a way cool kid.

This is me with Cessna and Lance, playing on the tramp a couple weeks ago.

Our friends Jenny and Bryant have a weimeraner who gave birth to nine puppies last weekend! Yup - nine. I'm glad I'm not a dog, is what I have to say about that. I think I took more pictures than necessary (then again, what's new?) but - look how cute!

I love to see them all cuddled up into each other.
Just to show how small they are.
They haven't even opened their eyes yet,
that won't come for another couple of weeks, I guess.
Chris holding two... they are so little!
Chris trying to feed them.... not sure how that will work?

The Judges

The judges performed in last night's finale (see post below). They actually did great!

Nigel Lithgoe (Executive Producer and Judge)

And Mary Murphy... she has some great legs, and looks really good - I was surprised!

And The Winner Is...

Joshua! I love this show! Joshua, a hip-hop dancer, who actually categorizes his type of dancing as a "performer," won Season 4 of So You Think You Can Dance. There has never been a hip-hop dancer win, and he is incredible! The finale last night was amazing (aside from the Jonas Brothers performance - sorry guys, for those that like them.)! Mary Murphy, a judge, and Nigel Lithgoe, the producer, danced and they were actually really good.

Unfortunately, when there is a winner, the season has to be over. :(
But I'm looking forward to the tour next month!

I wanted to post my favorite dance with Joshua, which they performed again last night. Most of you, I'm sure, have already seen this. But it's nothing short of amazing - so enjoy it again!

Nothin' But Crazy, But Totally Worth It

The Twilight Saga continues with Breaking Dawn released on Saturday. Jenny and I attended the release party on Friday night, amazed at what we saw. It was packed as tight as possible, with the only thing between the massive crowd were the tables and shelves piled high with reading material. We were in a bookstore, after all, so some decided to read while they waited. I'm not sure how any reading did get done with the everyone squished together like they were. With that being said - I can't imagine what the Harry Potter releases were like.

It was a wedding-themed party, "Formal wear requested by the bride and groom." There were plenty of people dressed to impress - and we joined them, just for fun. :)

There were also plenty of others that had their creative T-shirts on...

There were activities starting at 10:00 PM - Twilight Trivia and such. There were groups everywhere sitting on the floors, studying their books tediously to get the answers right.

Then came the bouquet toss... what did I tell you? Crazy, right? The winner of the toss received their copy of the book for free.
I think everyone was a little anxious...

Then came the waiting. There were plenty of people in their formal wear, sitting in groups on the floor, waiting their turn to get in line.

Our wristband was group number 28... it was going by rather slowly,
but someone gave up that had number 19 and gave us their place in line. Luckily. As it was, we didn't get out of
Barnes and Noble until 1:30 AM.

By the end of the night, here we were.
Tired and ready to go - but it was fun while it lasted!

Last Night

This was the best dance last night. It's not the greatest video quality, but  for those who still enjoy the videos from So You Think You Can Dance (Holly), I hope you enjoy it!

Help!

I love my job... when my boss is here. When he is not, I have nothing to work with. I'm his assistant, and if he doesn't give me anything, I am on my own. This week is the first that I have had entirely to myself. Yup. The whole thing. And it's only Wednesday. (Sigh...)

While I have had small projects here and there to do, the rest of the time the internet and I have become better friends. I  just finished the book I was reading, but I can't start another one
when Breaking Dawn is coming out in three days. I took a lunch already so I can't leave to go for a walk... and I have no reason to go wandering around the office looking for something to
do - I know exactly how everything looks right now. There is nothing to be done.

So, here I sit... and vent.  And blog. And surf the internet, hoping to find something to perk my interest. Not to mention snacking... Axiom keeps a well-stocked kitchen full of munchies. Pretzels, m&m's, goldfish, vanilla wafers, oreos, swedish fish.... It's unfortunate for me, because if I would let myself, there would be stopping me. Thank goodness for self-discipline... though, on days like these, what are you gonna do? Everyone has weaknesses...

While on the net, I have found some articles that have taken me by surprise, actually. If any of you are interested in hearing a story about two women who had no idea they were pregnant until giving birth, click here:  http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Parenting/story?id=5470808&page=1

If any of you have any suggestions for me, please let me know. Perhaps reading the countless children's books here in the library? For now, I will sit and think of nothing as I search for something that will be of worth to get paid for.

Just for Fun...

Cheesey, I know (thanks, Hol). But, it's fun anyway.

Breaking Dawn

This Saturday at 12:01 AM, the 4th and final book will be here ...
Yes, I love Twilight. And yes - I will be going with Jenny to
Barnes and Noble for the release party.

I'm sure there are some of you that are as excited as I am... I can't wait!
